Fort Bliss Substation Upgrade: TXUE completed engineering planning to upgrade the Electric Substation at Ft. Bliss Military Base in order to allow the substation to operate at optimum capacity. The upgrade consisted of reconductoring all existing circuits from the substation to the distribution riser poles. A new ductbank conduit system, along with manholes, was designed in order to convert multiple cables within single ducts to individual cables in single ducts. The design also specified the installation of new solid blade disconnects, string buses, arresters, and terminations in the substation. New riser poles with 600 Amp gang operated switches were also included in the design.
